The Troubadour Opera, about the troubadour Manrico, the beautiful Leonora and the gypsy Azucena, belongs, along with Rigoletto and La traviata, to the trio of operas that brought the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi into a strong, indelible consciousness in the history of opera art.

After the world premiere of Troubadour in 1853, the audience was literally captivated by Verdi's melody, orchestral color, perfect singing parts and sophisticated, energetic and emotionally charged choral parts - the opera thus became one of the most sought after. Even today, Verdi's Troubadour is still one of the most frequently performed operas both on the Czech and world stages, and for decades, it still receives above-average attention from the audience and the care of artistic personalities.
